How long have you lived in the UK

Hi,

I am completing SET_O Application Form ver 04 16 for the ILR after 5 years of Tier 2 (General). I first came to the UK on a student visa in Jan 2003 and then went abroad for work between 2008 and 2010 during which I made 2 trips to the UK for a week or two each.

Now, what is the correct answer to the section 7.13:

7.13. How long have you lived in the UK? years months

Answer: 16 year 07 months OR 6 years 02 months

Please provide details of any periods of absence of more than six months during that time.

Answer: 05/05/2008 to 12/10/2008 and 20/10/2008 to 10/10/2010 (or, this info is not needed.. and I only need to cover the present 6 years of permanent residence, because this is relevant to this application (compare with section 6.1).

The only period that counts is your last period of continued residence under tier 2
