Hi,
I have a friend who is a single mother on limited leave to remain (I guess 10 years route), she is living with one child 8 yrs old born and raised in the UK who is also on limited leave to remain.

She has no contact with the father of the child. Father of the child was also on limited leave but a family friend has told her that the father of the child has ILR status but it's not confirmed as father is not replying to confirm or willing to help.

As per my understanding, if mother or father of a child is settled, the child (born in the UK) can apply for British passport. Is there anyway, the mother can find out the immigration status of the father to confirm if ILR has been granted so she can apply for passport for the child?

If child's father wasn't British nor settled when child was born, then child cannot apply for a British passport directly. However, if child's father has ILR now, then child is entitled to register.

Ask the UKVI or landlord checking service to confirm child's father's status?

ithought this is 7years.. have you recently checked with the number of years? because i believe this is 7years and not 10years and if it is 7 then child was entitled in her own right a year ago.

It's not confirmed if father now has ILR or British passport but it was confirmed father was on DLR before.
Father's name is on birth certificate.

Landlord checking service only responds to confirm if someone has the right to rent (not status / visa / leave details).

Child never been out of the UK.
Father is named on the birth certificate but father's status is not confirmed, either ILR or British?
