I am planing to send my application with New Application form (aug2016). under 5 year residency.

They are asking for Three different proofs of residence for each year of residence claimed but I don't have 3 address proof for each addresses for the last 5 years. Because I lived in 7 different addresses.

Any suggestions what should I do ?
Can you clarify whether you do have three proofs of residence for each year of residency claimed but that don't necessarily match the dates you've listed on your address history?

Have you been working over those 5 years and do you have a bank account? If yes to both of these, then you already have 2 of the three! Bank statements and P60s from Revenue. 8)

Hello guys,

I am in between filling a new application for Irish naturalisation (Form 8 Ver 5.5 August 16) for my wife based on 3 years residence as married to an Irish Citizen. Just to clarify as they have written on new application form on number 2:

"The original of your current passport and any previous passports valid during periods of residence in the State,
together with a photocopy of the biometric page of each passport".

Do I need to send the original passport also or just the copies of it. Just a bit confused on that.

And my wife was away back home for exactly 2 months last year ( 8 weeks ). Would that effects her application. She came in Ireland 11Sept 2013. So by the dates she qualify to apply after 11Spet 2016. Please let know.

Thanks

Hi there!

You now need to send in your original passport as well as any other cancelled passport that you used whilst living in Ireland. You should also include a copy of the biometric page from each passport but this does not need to be certified from a solicitor.

They aim to return the original passports with the acknowledgement letter to you within 2-3 weeks.

As for your question about being outside of state for more than 2 months; are you an EU/Non-EU national? Does your wife have a stamp covering this period? You are asked in the application if you've been out side of the state for more than 6 weeks and so you should say yes and provide an explanation.

Thanks tuathanach.

Thanks for the reply. I am an Irish national and my wife is stamp 4. She have stamp covering that peroid. And If I provided them explanation and a valid reason why she was absent the state more than 6 weeks, would they accept my wife application then beacuse I have a medical reason.

And Do I have to explain to reason on the separate sheet and enclosed all the medical reports. Is that gona be ok and will they accept the appilcation. Please let me know. Thanks

@ dhruv87
Well the best way is to write a cover letter and along with the evidence why she was away more than 6 weeks.
I seen many cases over few month did not affect their application.
Its completely fine as long your wife has valid reason and she explains why she was away and give some little evidence (if she has only).
My friend did not provide any evidence and he was away almost 6 month,he just presented a cover letter without evidence and got his approval with no issue.
hope its helps

Please be advised that this office is currently processing new applications
received around the beginning of July. If you have not heard anything
further from this office within the next 2/3 weeks come back to me and I
will follow it up again for you.

Hi J_Karim,

I finally got my acknowledgement letter on 14th Sept.
The letter came with receipt of €175 application fee.
You are spot on the timeframe.

Application posted on 25th July 2016, received on 26th July 2016.
Acknowledgement letter & receipt received on 14th sept 2016.
Both letter & receipt are dated / issued on 10th Sept 2016.
Took 7 weeks to get the letter.

Since this is taking longer than 4 weeks to get acknowledgement letter, I am more curious about how long to receive next letter from now on!

How about yours? Any further update?

Hi J_Karim,

Thanks for sharing!
Looks like they sent acknowledgement letters in bulk on same day.
Hope they will speed up the process after summer.

I am not able to read private message because I am new to this site.
Don't think it's to do with settings.

My application is based on 3yr spouse of Irish citizen.
Is there a December ceremony?
I would think that it's likely to get approval by next Jan if lucky enough.
It seems to be very busy this time and takes longer to get 1st letter compared to others.
Maybe I am wrong....any thoughts?

Hi J_Karim,

Thanks for sharing again!

I was told that normally it gets very slow during summer as the staff in public sector usually take long holiday.

If they speed up the process time, we will probably make it to the Dec ceremony
And I don't mind going to Galway if I can go to that one :D :D :D
