working while waiting for COA

Post by biancos83 » Wed Sep 21, 2016 3:39 pm

Hi there, i hope you can help me

my husban is Australian and he is currently working in the uk. His working/holiday visa will expire at the end of october. I am from Czech republic working/living in the uk for last 12 years.

We were advise to apply for EEA resident card.
My question is:

1. Can my husband work while he is waiting for COA after his working/holiday visa expires??
2. How long will it take to get COA?

many thanks for your help.

1) Yes, as per Directive if you are exercising treaty rights or have acquired PR (as appears likely).

In practice it depends if employer will take/keep him on.

2) Weeks, month or 2.
Check timeline thread.

Re: Benefits of a registration certificate (EEA1)?

Hey guys,

will it affect my husbands application if i do not have registration certificate and will not be applying for one?

I work in the uk 9 years (9 years in the same job) and live over here 11years.

Do i have to send them maybe P60 for last 5 years??

Many thanks
