SOC Code not available for my job role

Hi,

My current SOC code is 2124 which is electronics engineer. My visa is going to expire and I need to apply for extension visa.

1. I do little bit of PCB design which is also the job role of Electronics Design. But this role is not mentioned on the SOC code. Can I please know how will I be able to know the code for the job role. Do I need to contact UKBA to know under which SOC code PCB design comes under?

2. If I need to move from one code to other (ex. 2124 Electronics engineer to XXXX SOC Code Software Programmer) with in the same company , do my employer need to do 28 days labor market test if he need to sponsor me once again since I am moving to different code ? or I can move to any other SOC code with out 28 days test ?

1. the soc codes are the ones which are published. It is your employer duty to choose one them.. the most suitable one. there are no other available and you dont have to choose them.
2. if the soc code is changed, an rlmt is needed, doesnt matter same employer or new.

The job need not be advertised ?

what about moving to other company as an Electronics engineer in automobile sector. ?
