Tier2(General) Salary Thresholds -2017

Post by ksk » Tue Sep 27, 2016 12:02 pm

Hi,

One of the most notable rule changes is the government’s decision to increase the minimum salary threshold for Tier 2 applications to £30,000 over the coming year.

This threshold is currently set at a minimum of £20,800, but will increase to £25,000 in the autumn of this year and then again to £30,000 in April next year.

I am on SOC code IT-2136 currently and eligible for ILR in next year August. but the statement worries me is does the threshold will be increasing for "existing experience roles too" ?

for 2136 currently it is:
Salary rates: New entrant: £24,000 / Experienced: £31,100

Thanks for you help.

new applications.
you will need 35k salary to apply for ilr. or as per experienced for your soc code if higher than 35k.

Thanks for reply.
my question is does government is going to increase threshold for experience roles ?
i know they going to increase minimum 25K in autumn 2016 and 30K in April 2017 applies to new entrants only?

im just above 35K and worried that soc thresholds will also increase again .

no one can answer that question. the revised list will be published when they want, and salaries will be as per the list.

The new threshold is for experienced workers. For new entrants it will remain at £20,800

I think the question is whether the 30K threshold applies to Tier 2 workers who already have their leave and are being paid a lower salary (?). i believe their situation doesn't change. Only at the time of application for further leave they need to show a salary of 30K or higher or 35K or higher for ILR. Please clarify if I'm wrong.
