Employer salary confirmation

Post by Hwanne » Fri Sep 30, 2016 12:13 pm

I'm asking my employer to write the letter confirming my employment details.

I need clarification on this point:

"the period over which they have been or were paid the level of salary relied upon in the application"

My salary has increased multiple times since I started in 2014, and once in the last 6 months. Does my employer need to:

a) detail the specifics of each pay rise?
b) give my new annual salary which came into effect last month (not representative of last 6 months)?
c) work out my average gross salary for the last 6 months?
d) multiply my lowest monthly wage in the last 6 months by 12?
e) something else?

I'm pretty confused. It would be great if someone could offer an example phrasing for this part of the letter.

I have had the same issue:
- had an increase 5 months ago
- and exactly 12 months ago had a promotion

My salary before promotion and salary increase was well above min.requirement of £18.6K, so I specifically requested our HR Dept to mention my salary before promotion, after promotion and after salary increase. On top of that I submitted latest P60 for FY15/16.

This way I believe ECO will have clear picture.

To ensure the six months prior to application is covered just rely on the amount prior to the pay rise for the purpose of the application and add in the section re finance that you received a pay rise which I assume the employer will state on the employment letter as your current salary.
