Continuous Period calculation

Post by SWANIK » Tue Aug 30, 2016 12:58 pm

Hi there,

Can I just check if for the calculation of the leave of absences, are weekends counted. Also, what about Bank Holidays if they are part of the duration of the leave? Are these all counted or do they need to be taken out?

The guidance only suggests to take out the departure and arrival date from the calculation.

Please guide.

All days are counted, apart from the day of departure and arrival.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Hi Casa
Thank You for your reply.
my question is i went to india on 24 july 2012 and came to uk on 21 jan 2013.
these are my stamping dates.
with travelling dates it comes to 182 days.
if i dont count the departure day and arrival day it comes to 180 days.
i am very confused about am i eligible for ILR 10 years route.
and how the home office will count the no of days absence i.e home office will count travelling dates also when checking for absences?.

Please reply me as soon as possible and its very important to me.
Thank You one and all in advance.

Only dates physically outside the UK are counted so the date left and arrived (stamping) are excluded as you were on UK soil.
