Can I Immigrate my Mother to uk ?

Post by manuce » Thu Oct 06, 2016 4:32 pm

Hi,

I got my British citizen ship now , Can I apply to immigrate my mother to UK she is 64 years old and i regularly send money in a joint account which is in my Mother and Brothers name which shows she is financially dependent on me. I was told by a friend that visa don't exist any more in UK where one can immigrate their dependent Mom n dad to UK or is this not the case anymore and such visa still exist?

Please advice.

Many thanks,

Manuce

The adult dependent relative route to settlement has been virtually closed since July 2012.

Unless your mother requires daily care for simple tasks such as bathing, dressing and feeding and that care is either not available in her home country or is unaffordable, the application will be refused.

Also be aware that if you apply and the visa is refused, the door will be closed for all visitor visa applications in the future due to the prior intention to settle.

SS is still an option, but be aware that your mother may not be able to achieve PR status due to Brexit.

Also do bear in mind that if you have other family in the UK (spouse, children) they would all have to re-locate to the EU state with you in order to show you have moved the centre of your life there.
