ILR - Recent Letter from Employer

Hello,

Please if could someone advise that how recent a letter from Employer (on am continued to be emloyed) should be?

I have a letter which was issued to me in January 2007 saying that I will be atleast further 12 months in UK, and if required I will be kept longer here.. And, I still have visa extended for another 12 months..

Am planning to apply in next 6 weeks, will this letter from January, 2007 be sufficient?
