Degree taught in English but not in English country

Post by immigrationboards » Sun Jan 20, 2008 2:08 pm

I would like to ask, my bachelor's degree taught in English mode,
and our university have stated that very clear.

However, my home country most citizen not English native speaker,
even though English is one of the official language in my home country.

Do I have chance to be recognize my bachelor's degree
and I can exempt IELTS?

Thank you!

All you need is a letter from your University stating that you have done your Degree in English.

That Letter should also have:

1. Your University's name;
2. Your Name;
3. Your Registration number;
4. The qualification obtained
5. Date of the award.

Also,

You need to send your original Degree.

Wish you Luck.

That mean if I have above information, even my home country
not native English country, I can exempt IELTS?

Yes, provided that it's a Bachelor's degree and is equivalent to U.K. academic qualification.

Nowhere does it say that you should be from an English speaking country. You do go through the HSMP guidance properly, word by word. It's stated everything clearly.

The following links should make you clear if your degree falls under U.K. academic degree or will you need to get it attested from NARIC .

I'm a honour degree holders in former British colony,
I think my degree almost be recognise by NARIC, right?

Another question is, if my university can't provide a letter to proven
my bachelor degree taught in English, but my university's website
state that our university's course is taught in English,
can I exempt IELTS?

.

Hi, immigrationbaords --

Interesting user name you have chosen.

The quick answer to your question below is : No.

The letter from the university is required. Foreign students who have taken their degree in the UK in a UK university have to get this letter.

Also, the university itself must be officially recognized as the equivalent of having UK academic qualifications.

If you wish to use this exemption, you cannot "think" that it is possible. You must prove it with documentation.

I suggest that you consider this carefully. If you wish to immigrate, you will always have to show that you meet requirements, and you will always be asked to provide proof.

If you don't prepare yourself to meet these standards, your applications are likely to fail.

degree taught in english

Post by hsmp100 » Tue Jan 29, 2008 11:52 am

Is it mendatory to have letter from both College as well as University??? I have got the printed certificate from college with seal and signature stating " Mr. XXX was bonafide student of this college studying XXXX from academic year xx to xx . The medium of instruction for curiculum is English"

I am also submitting original degree certificate which mentions my collge name clearly and original transcript

will this suffice?
thnx

They normally just accept the degree awarding institution, in this case University, not college. If you have both it is better.
But waht you need to make sure, you get from from university.
