Tier 2 ICT Long term extension - request to return documents

This is 7th week since I made the application for Tier 2 extension, due to some emergency I need to travel back to my hometown can someone advice any route to get my passport back for travel purposes (I don't want to withdraw my application).

if you request your passport your application could be considered withdrawn. How would you re-enter the UK??

I assume you are trying to say only option I have is to withdraw my application? in case of premium sponsor they are giving the option to return documents upon request is there anyway I can get it, my employer is not a premium sponsor.
