My wife is due to apply for her 2nd FLR M extension.

My child, British citizen is in receipt of DLA and Carer's allowance. Do we need to meet the financial requirement of £18,000.?

"3.6.1. Where the applicant’s partner is in receipt of any of the following benefits or allowances
in the UK, the applicant will be able to meet the financial requirement at that application
stage by providing evidence of “adequate maintenance” rather than meeting an income
threshold:
 Carer’s Allowance.
 Disability Living Allowance.
 Severe Disablement Allowance.
 Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit.
 Attendance Allowance.
 Personal Independence Payment.
 Armed Forces Independence Payment or Guaranteed Income Payment under the
Armed Forces Compensation Scheme.
 Constant Attendance Allowance, Mobility Supplement or War Disablement Pension
under the War Pensions Scheme."

Thanks for the detailed answer with documentary evidence Casa.

So £18, 600 is not applicable to us.

It also says further that:-
"The applicant will not need to meet the minimum income threshold. Instead, the applicant is required to demonstrate that they will be adequately maintained without recourse to public funds."


My wife is not working and i am working part time, Will I be able to show the part time income plus Child Benefit, Child Tax Credits and working tax credits as proof of income.?

You can include all benefits to which you have entitlement, including CB, tax credits, DLA and Carers Allowance.

The level of income support is:
Couple over 18 @ £114.85 per week
Each Child @ £66.90 per week

You need to add your weekly income + benefits
Deduct weekly rent or mortgage

This should leave you with no less than £181.75 per week.

(I've assumed you only have one child).

No they won't if you meet the requirement under 'adequate maintenance' as I've posted.

Hi there

With regards to my previous posts, for adequate maintenance we need to show some sort of personal income.

I am self employed (taxi driver) for the past 5 months. As my weekly income varies, will they take an average of the monthly income and then divide by 4. Also will I be telling them the net income as I have to deduct fuel and other costs from my total weekly income.?

my concern is that will they accept the self employment as obviously I have not submitted the returns yet. Could someone please explain how this will work as I need to apply next week for the flr m extension.
