Apologies if this is not quite the right place for this question, but I have searched the boards for an answer to my question and not found quite what I'm looking for.
My girlfriend is looking to apply for FLR(M) as I am a British Citizen and we have been living together for over 2 years now. We are planning on using the premium service. However, before submitting the application, we obviously want to make sure it is spot on.
I can't imagine we are alone in that a lot of our statements these days (in particular bank statements) are online. Does anyone have any experience they can share of whether a simple print out of an online statement is sufficient? I think my bank will be able to stamp the statements I print out but when I've asked for this previously, it has very much looked like a photocopy statement rather than an original. The guidance I've read is unclear either way if it is sufficient.
Also, if we manage to obtain an appointment at the start of the month e.g. January 6, but my bank statements only go to roughly the 25th of the month. If I get paid on the 28th is that going to be a problem as I won't have the immediate 6 months at the time of my appointment or is it at the time of the application being submitted?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Graeme
Hi Graeme,
I only just sent my application away with original bank statements but I too ran into some problems in regards to my pay date and the available statements. What I found was, my main bank Lloydsbank, only generate statements based on a number of transactions, if you hardly used the account, you would have to wait a long long time for an original statement to be generated. I got around this by putting in and out a number of phony transactions from my other Natwest account, this generated the statement for me and I was able to order it online and it took about a week to arrive.
Natwest on the other hand are able to provide original bank statement from X date to Y date if requested via their online chat system which was much easier.
I was told by both banks that it is possible to print out "original looking" statements online, I imagine if you print these in color they would look original, not sure what the difference would be but I decided not to risk it and just go with original statements.
