Travelling to UK for interview after HSMP approval

Post by curious canadian » Wed Jan 30, 2008 11:58 am

Hello there -
I have received HSMP approval a few weeks ago. A company wants to hire me but wants to have a face to face interview with me prior to starting the engagement.
I am a Canadian Citizen and I dont need a UK visa for visit. Do I have to get Entry Clearance (EC) for going to UK for interview purpose?

The reason I dont want EC is that: If I dont get the position, I want to come back and resume by existing job. Please advise!
Thanks a lot for your help in advance!

If you dont need a visa for visit, then you can obviously visit the UK, take up interviews, etc. You need EC only to work. So, get going buddy..nothing to worry...

If you are a non-visa national you will not need entry clearance to come to the United Kingdom for less than six months unless it is a requirement of the immigration category you are entering under. If you are a non-visa national coming to the United Kingdom for more than six months you will need entry clearance.
