they are looking at funds + accomodation + UK job offer as one single factor - i.e your ability to support yourself till you get a job in the UK without using UK public funds.

I got a strange reply from BHC Mumbai for my email asking the status of my visa application that

Dear Sir

This refers to your email below.

We are making enquiries on your visa application which could take up to one month, however, our aim is to be able to process your application more quickly than this. In a very small number of cases, visa applications take longer than one month to process.

Yours faithfully

Casework Unit

Also the Subject line changed to BOM 11612xxx

i think this is common to the Mumbai BHC to state that they are doing some further investigation.. I'm also been told the same from last 2 weeks.
I presume there must be some goof-up from Integra and they are doing the investigation all over again..

I have to be in Germany, and these guys haven't even sent the passport back so that i can apply for the Schengen ...

Pressure from wife

She wants to be in the British Isles right now ...

And now - these guys are saying a 30 Day period for this .. I am in

Jason youre right - approval news last came in on monday. Bursts of progress are mostly happening on monday's and friday's - their pipeline reporting happens on monday mornings i guess.

so then we can expect lots of news tommorrow !!! ( living in hope)

Verification and Integra checks completed (atleast that is what the mail from BHC says)
Actually quite frustrating because work is held up, not to mention the client in Germany can't quite understand why i haven't still applied for Schengen.

Darren , if possible , let your client know that passport is stuck up with BHC - just dont give details of what type of visa etc- let them assume you have a short term visit to UK in the pipeline which would not affect your planned visit to Germany

BHC has crossed 18--25--and marching to 30..........

But our status has not moved any where it is still "WAITING"

Your point is valid - the submarine cable breakdown may hit the BHC - as the BHC would be using a dedicated link to the UK. in case they have a back up plan of using VPN over internet that would not be an issue. However I am sure that they would have a Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Plan which should take into account any such unforeseen situations. Hope they have any secure VPN over Internet handy for their usage

We use the Internet, and not necessarily a dedicated link... that is why we are able to have a "group bawl". However, all of us would be bawling more if there is additional delay....

Anyways, Gonna apply again for EC...taking prof advice this time and its all going well...

Gonna apply by first week of feb.

Please let your immediate manager know that the BHC calling the signing authority of your UK job offer letter (if from Indian MNC) and make them clear that u WILL NOT come back to India after complletion of project.

Gonna show 3L in bank account and my dad's property and FD's.
