Exceptionally Complex Letter from UKVI.

Post by GMO » Tue Nov 15, 2016 12:24 pm

I submit fresh new application ( after refusal , cause of salary) end of September. And after waiting almost 7 weeks today I received I letter from UKVI stated that they need more time to process it. They can't make the decision on usual 8th weeks!

I am waiting for the visa from last 4 month total and I need to fly for the medical emergency.
My question is what shall i do now and how can I contact with them? Anybody receive this type of letter from UKVI and what is the update. Please help.

Many Thanks

Typically, it simply means they're swamped with applications and cannot process yours in time for the deadline. There's no implication on whether this is a good or bad sign, only that it will take more time.

If a decision hasn't been made and you request the return of your passport, your application will be considered as withdrawn.

How will you return to the UK without a valid visa :?:

Just call them and explain the situation.
They might be able to speed it up based on the urgency of the request.

I wouldn't fly before getting the visa, though.

I'd give them a call first to get initial guidance.

Thats great but some people said the people who receive the calls have very basic information and they often can't guide you in a right way and sometimes make you confused!

Best to hear it from them than from 'some people'. Real emergencies tend to get some sympathy.
If it's completely useless, at least you tried.

I don't think there's a general public email address.
Again, I would call them first, they might give you an email address OR further instructions / guidance on who/how to write...

My advice, when you do speak to them - is not to focus on the 'why', but on the fact that there is a real emergency and that you'll need it to be processed soon.

Update :I call to UKVI and they suggest me to write them.

Anyone have any idea how long usually they take after issuing this type of case.

There is no guaranteed or set time for a decision.

Each case is assessed separately and depends what additional checks need to be carried out on the individual circumstances.

Obviously the necessary checks were completed before the anticipated processing time.

Hi everyone,

There is really no timeline once they send the complex issue letter. The letter could be of any number of reasons and can take however long it takes.

I've been waiting for 10 months for a decision to be made on my application.

Calling the number of the home office won't be any help as the personnel on the phone have very little information about your application.

If you would like to write to them you can do so by postal letter, addressed to the case working team . You can find the address on the complex issue letter you received.

If there is an emergency, the best option for you is to write the letter to them explaining the situation and if they deem necessary and if it is possible they might speed up the process.

I hope this helps you all to an extent.

All the best and don't panic

Kindly note this is not a timeline thread nor a general 'how do applications get processed' topic.
