Here are my timelines:
11 Jan - Applied for extension (1+3+3 category)
21 Jan - Acknowledgement letter received.
24 Jan - Received a letter stating that claimed points were not awarded for earnings.
24 Jan - Called workpermits, spoke to caseworker and she said bank statements are required covering the whole period.
24 Jan - Sent in bank statements
29 Jan - Received passports with further extension.

I would also like to add that I applied 4 months early for this extension and gave a simple reason that I have plans to travel during the easter holidays.

Excellent service level WPUK.

Thanks to this forum for all the help.
Hi shahidsuri,
Congrats.

Can you pls tell us what documents you initially sent to HO for earning points?

Thanks

Hi Hari15,

For evidence of earnings, I sent
- 15 months payslips
- P60 covering Apr 2006/Apr 2007
- 3 months bank statement

I think since the P60 was only till Apr 2007, they needed to see something to cover the period from Apr - Oct.

I haven't got payment ref yet. Payment deducted on 25th jan.
How long does it take to get ref no, or they may not give ref no is that possible.

They will normally post it by 2nd class. It may take a week after the application, to reach you (sometimes they may not post at all)

Quick way to get the ref number is calling the home office.

If you email them they will reply back in a week. I mailed them on monday today I got reply

Hi Herts,

Can you please let me know the checklist that was submitted as a part of FLR? Also on the Evidence of your Financial Status, what are the diffrent options we have? What is the minimum amount that has to be shown?

Normally how much time will it take for Online credit card statement to show the transaction from the date when WP charges our credit card?

My payment is processed on 28th or 29th and I have even got payment reference number from Home office

Today is 1st Feb. But still my CreditCard online statement is not showing any transaction with Home office.

Bit worried about this

Hi Hari,
If you have got the payment ref no that should be fine. I paid from debit card of my bank and t showed on the next day on the mini statement.
May be could take some more time for credit card statement to appear in your account.

Hi vhsmpuk,
1) checklist is basically what is given on the last pages on the flr form. Just attached a utility bill, tenancy agreement as well.
2) For financial thing, have a look how much money you need to show for achieving 75 points. Also supplies p60 and letter from employer showing last years salary earned.

Good news! That means they are just waitting for your wife's pic to finish the visa. You will get your docs back in couple of days.

So, it seems like the caseworker need 3-4 days for a case?

Stamped!

Post by kamb1ng » Fri Feb 01, 2008 1:43 pm

Got the passports back with stamps until 29 Jan 2010.

Applied: 22 Jan
Money deducted from debit card: 23 Jan
Got ref# through post: 26 Jan
Faxed urgent treatment: 28 Jan
Received stamped passports and documents: 1 Feb

This is for an initial, in-country application.

I'm very very impressed with the UK HO, night and day compared to the USCIS.

Good luck to everyone.

Hi Kamb1ng,
What is the reason we should write in the urgent treatment form.
Do we need to pay any money for faxing the urgent treatment form.

I got my ref number by post today, also my credit card statement now showing the amount been deducted

Payment deducted on 28/01

My application is complete and I am gaining required points

I am only worrying about my too early extension application (Though I have mentioned the genuine reasons for it, its quite too early)

I am 100% sure that there is no rule to reject based on early applications as per case worker guidelines

However caseworker may try to get some other reasons to reject if they are really unhappy. Anyway I have taken that risk now because I cant afford to wait due to my personal reasons.

herts wrote:hari, how many months before have you applied ?
almost 9 months..

But I have some genuine reasons like my marriage & engagement which makes me to visit my home country atleast thrice in this year.

But I have no problem even if they provide me leave from the date of application, as I have only 1.5 years more for ILR

I have also read the caseworker guidelines completely, also got an email response from home office that I can apply early if I wish. Only based on that email I have applied. I have attached that email with that application

My worry is they should not find some other reason to reject or should not keep the application with them for long time

I personally think it won't really be a problem as you have mentioned genuine reason and that is quite ok.

If you download the form, you'll know the answer to your questions.

If you don't have any urgency, then don't use it, and just wait :). they're quite fast anyway.
