Parking Ticket issued by private Company

Sorry I had to start this as a new thread to get a quick response.

Do I have to treat parking ticket issued by a private parking company same as those issued by police or Local Council.

Does one need to declare parking ticket issued by private parking company? the ticket fee was paid off after exchange of few mails with the parking company and their debt recovery company. No court action taken.
