Permanent residence date on SAR reply

Post by Riff_Raff » Mon Nov 28, 2016 9:29 pm

Received my SAR reply and it seems like the date I acquired permanent residence was calculated 5 years from when I was issued with a temporary residence card (I applied for one during the time WRS was a thing even though it was not required). I'm pretty sure under the EEA rules it would be from the moment I started working /exercising treaty rights and that would be a year before.

I was wondering what date to put on the application. I am able to apply in both cases.

I believe that'd be the date they have recorded on their system, just to stay on safe side.

Perhaps one of our proven experts here could give their opinion.

Good luck.

Form AN for naturalisation :) In both cases 12 months have passed. I applied for a SAR as the issue date of my PR card was May this year but I acquired the PR much earlier according to EEA rules just wanted to double check the date they recorded.
1.3 Please say when you were given indefinite leave to enter/
remain in the UK (not necessary if you are a Commonwealth
citizen with right of abode in the United Kingdom). If you are an
EEA national, a Swiss national or a family member of an EEA
or Swiss national you should read pages 10 to 11 of the Booklet
AN.

Suggest skip 1.3 which relates to ILR - not PR.

Answer EEA section.
And add any other pertinent info in a cogent paragraph in additional info section of AN form and Bob's your uncle!

Don't put anything in 1.3. You do not have ILR.
