ILR: Set O form (Is it for both Main + Dependant combined?)

Post by plabo » Sun Dec 25, 2016 6:41 pm

Hi

Me and wife are applying next month for ILR. I am on a Tier 2 General visa and she is my dependant. I know it is a silly question but after going through the latest Set O form, it appears HER details will also go on my own form i.e she doesn't need a SEPERATE Set O form to be filled right?

I am on Tier 2 General earning above the threshold with the same sponsor for last 4 years. I have a bank statement and she has one for herself as well. Couldn't understand what you mean by this?

There is NO requirement (FUNDS AMOUNT) to show for a Tier 2 dependant if applying together. The most imporatant thing they are seeing is that the MAIN applicant is earning ABOVE the required threshold and proof in the form of pay slip and bank balance (salary deposited in) is shown.

If you know anything different, please let me know.

Can you please continue your questions in your own topic that you already have rather than just tagging onto a topic where a member is also trying to get clarity. It is considered rude to post your questions each time in someone else's thread.

Hi

I came to the UK on a Tier 2 general visa and had to show my Academic IELTS module for visa requirements then.

The following link mentions:

https://www.gov.uk/english-language/app ... ifications

Applying to settle in the UK

You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true:

1. It’s on the current list of recognised tests

2. It was accepted for another UK immigration application, eg when you got permission to enter

I am applying for ILR next month.

If I click on the 'current list of recognised tests' on the following link:

Table 1:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... entres.pdf

It DOES not mention IELTS Academic. I know previously it has been used in 2011 for entry clearance and could have been used for ILR as well based on the above statement but now this document dated 1st Dec 2016 is NOT showing ILETS Academic as an acceptable exam. Let me please clear this that all my colleagues on Tier 2 recently have shown their expired IELTS Academic and got ILR b/c they have shown this at the time of entry clearance.

My question now is:

Has the Home Office taken away the IELTS Academic completely and accepting ONLY IELTS Life Skills?

If that is the case, then I better apply for IELTS Life Skills B1 as don't want to take a risk on a Premium appointment day and make a mess of my ILR application.

Anyone who knows more on this, please let me know.
