Hi all,

My tier 1 entrepreneur extension (50K PSW) is due in Feb 2017. I have a plan to go to my home country next month basically to get marry. I have few questions if someone among seniors can reply to this:

(1) Will there be any issue with dependent application when my visa is left less than five months?

(2) Do I still need to do TB certificate for dependent and payment for health surcharge?

No issues as far as I know however your partner will not get a visa that is valid beyond yours.

Yes. Your dependant needs to submit TB certificate and overseas criminal records and pay the IHS

Hi all,

I want to apply dependant visa for my wife. Under select visa type it doesn't give any option like Tier 1 Dependant or which option do i need to select. Can you please help to fill the required online form.

Secondly if i don't change the surname of my wife. Would I be able to change it once my wife comes to uk.

I cannot help on this one as I never used this service. I guess someone who did should be able to help

In theory yes, In the UK you can apply to get your name changed via Deed Poll.
However you MUST first talk to the embassy/consular of your country in the UK to make sure you follow the correct legal procedure here to get her name successfully changed on her passport or other official documents of your home country. Then you can easily let HO know that her surname has changed.

Yes, Tier 1 Ent dependent. There is no other category partner can apply as your dependent if you have Tier 1 Ent visa.

when I login on Visa4UK website. It only shows following options:

Standard Visitor Visa
Marriage Visitor Visa
1 month Permitted Paid Engagements visa

I can't find this Tier 1 Entrepreneur dependant option. Is there any other member who can come forward please.

as I applied for my dependent long back I will let u know what I remember.
Once u login visa4uk,
It asks in Select visa type:
Reason for visit : select WORK there,
Visa type: tier1 entrepreneur
Visa sub type : tier1 entrepreneur partner ( here partner is ur wife only , not entrepreneur team partner , so don't worry )

And then follow the rest of application

Dear Members,

I will really appreciate if you can help me out with these questions in dependant online form as below:

(1) How long do you intend to stay in UK. Is it my visa expiry date?

(2) Under spouse/ Partner details: Is it my wife details come followed by her mother and father details. Bit confused about this section.

(3) Main Applicant: Is it my details which comes under this section ?

(4) How are you related to the main applicant? what shall i write ?

(5) Does the main applicant have a Certificate of Sponsorship or Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies number? What no. shall i write ?

(6)What job/course of study is the main applicant doing in the UK ?

(7) What permission do they have to stay in the UK ?

(8) What is the start date of the job or course ?

(9) What is the end date of the job or course ?

I have just one last query. I have submitted Tier 1 dependant online application. For some reason system shows IHS of PKR 105,000.00 which seems to be really high.

Can you or someone else advise on this please.

The IHS amount is £200 per year of your visa, so for a 3 year visa you must pay £600 (or equivalent of it in your currency)

Dont worry , even though more amount than the required has been deducted , after ur dependent visa decision, they will Refund it Back . It happened to my frds too from out of country applications.

Hi all!

thanks for all your earlier help. I filed Tier 1 dependent visa for my wife last month which is refused two weeks ago.

Entry clearance officer said: "You have not provided any evidence of any contact you have had or any photograph of any time you have spent together outside of your wedding ceremony. Therefore i am not satisfied that marriage is on going and subsisting or intend to live as husband and wife together during your stay in the UK"

I only provided photograph of my wedding ceremony, also it was arranged marriage. By the time decision came i was in my home country.
Can anyone who has been through the same situation advise either I should file admin review or should go for fresh application please.

An urgent help will be much appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. I applied the visa right after 14 days of my wedding. I feel if the visa officer needed any further information then he could have asked else all required documents were provided.

Did you make it clear in your application that it was an arranged marriage?

It is a standard requirement to submit evidence of relationship such as whatsapp messages, skype calls etc. or other photos besides wedding ones.

Hi Hellopino,
Sorry to hear ur dependents refusal, First of all may I know did u submit any form of Communication( like skype,watsapp- coversations or chats, call logs) that happened between ur spouse and yourself since your marriage ? off course as u mentioned it is short period but still there will be some sort of communication atleast messages or call logs, did u submit them ?
If u did so, then u might go for AR and set ur arguments that your relationship is geuine

I didn't submit any chat or photograph after the wedding. I only have photograph of different occasion like family dinners and honeymoon. During my stay, i didn't chat because i was with her.

Hi hellopino,
Sorry to hear your dependant refusal.
I applied in India same as you after 7 days of my wedding. Mine was arranged marriage and didn't had any issue like this. I had submitted wedding photographs and marriage cirtificate from the municipality.

If you use to make call to your wife before your marriage you can call your phone network company and try to get the call history .
