Does SOC code change affect ILR application?

Post by Nov0914 » Tue Dec 27, 2016 6:30 pm

Hi,

I am changing my Tier 2 sponsor soon who is offering me a job under a different SOC code. Currently in 2129 (Technical engineer), I reckon the new code will be 2462 (Regulatory professional).

Would this switch will affect my ILR application in the future?

I have not changed the industry I am working with but merely the role.

As long as visa continuity is maintained, changing the SOC code does not impact your ILR.

Hope you are aware that changing Sponsor and SOC code will attract RLMT. This is usually the hard part as most people get it wrong. Make sure your new sponsor are fully aware of how to carry out a proper RLMT.
Also ensure you have your new visa before resigning your current job.

All the best
