Confused about cohab proofs

Post by syedaliuk » Wed Jan 04, 2017 2:05 pm

Proof of joint address is required by submitting 6 pieces of evidence in joint names, spread as evenly as possible throughout the full 2.5 year period from at least 3 different sources.

A good rule of thumb is one piece every 4-5 months. If you are unable to submit 6 in joint names, you will need 12 in single names. Anything with a name/names, address & date will be acceptable.
Please can someone help me with the above quoatation. Me and my wife don't have anything in joint, However she has got electricity & gas bill, bank statement, nhs etc on her name. What does it mean when you say 12 pieces ? Also can someone send me a actual link to the information above?
Also couple of months ago I shredded lot of my old paper work to declutter, now I don't think so I have anything older than 2 months. Please can someone explain in layman terms :).
