A RC is not a visa merely a confirmatory document that confers no rights.Riz035 wrote:My residence card which was issued to me almost five years ago expires mid January does that mean I shouldn't be working after that expiry date?
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Send all information and evidence since you entered UK.ggolal01 wrote:Hello,
I'm EU nationality and about to apply for Permanent residency document (UK). I arrived to UK on 9/09/2010, started to work on 14/02/2011 till 28/02/2016. It covers 5 years which makes me eligible to apply for PR. However, after resignation, I was unemployed till 01/11/2016. Can I cover in my application just the period from 14/02/2011 till 28/02/2016 or does it have to be the last five years of my residency in the UK?
Also, I would like to make an application for my whole family (2 adults including me and a child, all EU nationality). Which sections of EEA PR form do I have to fill in regards of my husband and a child? Am I counted as a sponsor for them?
Thank you in advance!
Regards,
Greta
the average time is to sit tight and enjoy your first half of 2017!forzark1 wrote:Non - EU Application sent: 11 Nov 2016

I guess the waiting game begins now. What is the average waiting time for non EU applicants?
Thanks Noajthan, I understand that RC isn't a visa but what shall I show when my employer asks for my status?noajthan wrote:A RC is not a visa merely a confirmatory document that confers no rights.Riz035 wrote:My residence card which was issued to me almost five years ago expires mid January does that mean I shouldn't be working after that expiry date?

The RC is pretty irrelevant if you have PR and wife also has PR (& DCPR) - you can work away to your heart's content.
Employer can run an ECS check - they should know that.Riz035 wrote:Thanks Noajthan, I understand that RC isn't a visa but what shall I show when my employer asks for my status?
Also I don't even have the PR yet, just a COA which doesn't even confirm the right to work!

Application sent : 24/06/16
Application received: 25/06/16

Biometrics letter :01/08/16
Biometrics done:07/08/16
COA received: 16/08/16
Haven't heard anything since . Hopefully will get some news this month.
Oddly enough, someone suggested that my wife should've applied first on her own as an EEA national then when it's done, I can apply separately and the kids can just get naturalised automatically, since they were both born in the UK. I, naively, went through the clear path and made a joint application.lubmob wrote:i have same timeline

still waiting no result
Just a quick one please:
I'm non-EEA Married to EEA: 19/08/2011 (as your wife is a BC so HO will not recognise her as an EEA national, she cannot be your sponsor on EU migration route anymore, but there is an exception if you held a UK RC issued in or before July/Oct 2012 which you are, or even from your wedding date! in both cases you are before that date)
I received RC: 07/02/2012
Spouse received BC: 10/06/2014
Spouse Been working full time for as long as she's been in UK, 14 years
We have been living together for 6 years.
I did not work for 4 years, 06/2012-05/2016, this is a period when I have been trying to establish my own business which didn't work out and then worked for 6 month for google when I started learning Information Technology on my own and getting international certificates, Spouse income and my savings been paying for us in this time, and finally got a good job on 05/2016 and been working full time ever since.
I have read through this thread and learned a lot, thank you all for your inputs.
Could you please advise if I can apply for PR, I think I could apply 5 years from marriage? Yes as your 5 yrs clock has started from your wedding's date and apply by using McCarthy transitional arrangement
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... als-v4.pdf
page 28 (you need to print and include cover letter with it)
Can I still work when my application is in process file your application asap so you can get COA. even that they can wait for few weeks!
If I receive my PR hopefully, when can I apply for BC considering my wife got BC on 10/06/2014, or is it just 12months from the PR date? You can apply soon you get your PR as you are married to BC, also go for one thing at time, get your PR sorted and take it from there!
Also i suggest you to check the below links:

For more advise, and as well as for your cover letter as you should explain clearly that you are invoking the transitional arrangement***
