Documents required for Tier 2 General Visa Extension

Hi Forum Members,

My Tier 2 General Visa is expiring in March, so going to apply for extension soon. Can any body please share his/her experience or knowledge about the documents i need to attach for my and my dependents extension application ?

Hi,

Just passports, brps and photographs are required for extension applications.

I don't have the BRP because at the time i got the visa they don't issue brp.

This is what I submitted:

Passport
BRP if available
Photos
Bank Statements for 3 months
Payslips for 3 months
Please check english language requirements. I didnt require any for T2 extension as I switched from PSW aand provided my UK degree for the first T2 visa.

I have provided IELTS certificate for the first Tier 2 visa but that is expired, do i still have to provide it again ?

I just had a look at the guidance. Couple of points:

If you are applying for entry clearance or further leave to remain under the Tier 2 (General) category,
you must have a level of English equivalent to level B1 or above of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework for Language Learning.

You will be awarded 10 points if you are applying for leave to remain under Tier 2 (General), Tier 2 (Sportsperson) or Tier 2 (Minister of Religion) and you meet the requirements of one of the categories listed below:
 you are a national of a majority English speaking country; or
 you hold a degree that was taught or researched in English which must be equivalent to a UK Bachelors degree or above; or
 you have passed an English language test at the appropriate level; or
 you have met the English language requirements when given a previous grant of leave; or
 you qualify under the transitional arrangements.

Highlighted point in bold might be relevant for you. I am not sure about an expired IELTS certificate. Somebody with more knowledge than me might be more helpful.

You do not need to submit English language proof in tier 2 extension applications.

Another question i am going to apply for my wife (dependent), what documents do you think i might have to submit for her. Is there anything else needed for her ?

Hi, can I ask if the 'Bank Statements for 3 months' and 'Payslips for 3 months' is necessary? I donot think they are needed, if you apply to extend your T2 visa.

Is it necessary to attach salary slips ? what if i don't send salary slips ?

Hi Forum Members,

I am going to submit the documents for Tier 2 extension soon. I have following question in mind:

1. Is it necessary to submit Salary Slips ? if yes then for how much period?
2. Is it necessary to submit bank statements?

I am worried about these questions because today i have filled the form for Tier 2 extension and in the check list they have only asked for Passport, BRP and two passport size photograph.

Looking for your help ASAP.I'll be really thankful for your help.

For T2 extension application, bank statement or salary slip is not required. You will be granted 10 points based on the proof you submitted on your previous application.
