I think you need to contact the Home Office as a mistake has been made or maybe they thought you weren't qualified for a permanent residence card consequently, issued you a residence card (it happens sometimes)
I have copied and pasted as seen below the Home Office email address for biometric residence cards reports that is if it has got a mistake on it:
Email the Home Office on
BRCerror@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk within 10 days of receiving your residence card or permanent residence card if there’s a mistake on it.
Include the following in your email:
your full name, date of birth and nationality
your passport number
your case reference number
a contact telephone number
your delivery address
details of exactly what information is wrong
So, I followed the steps and that's how it went:
1- sent email explaining the problem
2- received an automated response that "if you are responding to an email, then we'll answer, otherwise, your email will be automatically deleted. please follow one of the following links that best-suits your case: ....etc"
3- followed the link and it took me to an "online form". I attempted to submit the form more than 30 times, from different devices, on different connections and different browsers, to no avail...
4- Last resort: send a "letter" to the address listed in the decision letter (it's a freepost address, so you can't track it!)
5- one week later, I received an email acknowledging receipt of the letter and telling me it's gone to the caseworker.
6- few days later, I got a call from the case worker (the lady in whose hands my family's stability was hanging for 6.5 months) acknowledging the error on the card and asking me to send the messed up card so that she can send the new one.
7- once she received the bad card, she posted the correct one... case closed.
I hope others take note of this case and check their cards thoroughly on receipt. It's quite inconvenient that the UKBA don't show samples of how cards should look like, so if it wasn't for you guys, I would probably be still using the bad card, which could've caused me whatever trouble with the UKBA in airports.
