Hi Jason , kmsr and everyone

i am no where near the UK - in fact very much still in the EC queue at BHC chennai where i have been rooted for past 45 days now :shock:

First of all - Congrats to manish !! your optimism really paid off mantya - your belief was never shaken throughout the 40 day wait

Others ,

as i was very depressed on thursday , my husband advised that i forget about the ec for some time and just stay cool and wait. all my analysis has gone for a toss so i did not have much to post anyway :roll:
anyways , i called up BHC last friday - they just said HSMP takes long time to process and did not commit any deadline. Today i emailed them and got reply that they are processing 3rd week december applications - i guess that is an improvement over previous mails where they said 1st week and all. - but it is no guarantee as we know some week 2 are also still waiting

so at this point - no idea what to think and how long to wait - meanwhile we can watch the January applications progress at a steady pace :twisted:

just to end this post on a positive note ( Mantya's optimisim seemed to have worked for him) - i remember a flood of results last tuesday - so all the best to everyone for a better tommorrow - remember all of us are reading the updates even if we dont post too often so hoping for updates from the 8 of us ( dec applicants ) ......

kmsr , dont go by their words "processing week 3" etc - i am not giving much weightage to it.

they told ce that they will complete all december backlog by friday or monday :idea: :?: :roll: :?

BTW - what about update from CE or his wife , maybe they got it today :?:

BHC are telling few ppl to call again after one week or two weeks - to me they are saying just wait. so i am at the lowest priority rung cases for BHC right now and no idea why - i really feel that vfs person at the counter hardly filled up the checklist properly ; we were the last at the counter at 6 pm so she was in hurry i guess - :cry:

NOWW i got to remember that I did not fill up the date of travel in my application form.. :?

Could that be a reason that they have taken my application priority on a lighter note. :shock:

I even observed that ppl who have provided the intended date of travel were given visas a day before the date of travel......... :roll:

Can anybody throw light on this..

hi kmsr

i can confirm that this a very valid assumption - ie not mentioning travel date delaying the processing

i used the old VAF form which did not ask travel date ; neither did the vfs girl point this out to me nor did she stamp it on the application as others here mentioned. Lastly , i did not mention my intended travel date in covering also.

how many of the others feel that this could be causing the delay ?

I am Jan 2 applicant still waiting...

I think I did the same I did not have any section of travel date on my form and that might be the potential cause of delaying the application(s)...

GOD knows what all reasons exists!!!

I too think I used the old application form, I did not fill it to, but I the EC as expected!!

I had mentioned my travel date as Jan 28th!! However I had applied on Dec 20th. Possibly it got de-prioritized due to that..

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum. I got introduced to this forum when I was searching for the reason for the delay in my EC. Interesting to know that there are many like me.

I have got information that some of the Jan 08 applicants started getting back their Passports after stamping. And some are just waiting like us.

As many of you observed, we do get the same reply from the representatives when ever we call them. In my view I think that they do not have any great information about the status of our individual application, which is making them to repeat the same reply to us.

As I hear, the EC success rate is more than 95% and we just need to hope that we do not fall in the 5% category. I do not have any concerete details on the basis of the EC getting rejected.

Since we cannot do any further escalation to speed up our passport, we just need to keep our fingers crossed and wait, though that might be frustrating sometimes.

Let us just hope for the best. All the best too all.

Hey guys...chill..I dont think the travel date is a matter of concern...either we would have mentioned it in the covering letter or at the least..they wud give a visa with the current date...And Vidya..welcome back :)

I dont think the date of travel will make any difference as sometimes they only say that not to make any arrangements for travel till the result...

I think I also have entered the waiting list now as I have crossed 24 days timeframe... need to see how long it takes...

There is no relation between travel date and EC priority. They may be having their own priorities and verifications. Calling them also is not going to solve the puzzle. I remember someone in this forum getting the EC on the day he was going to travel.
A week before, they told me to call this week. When I called them yesterday, they told me to call a week after next week. That is march.

Just received a verification call from BHC.
She has spoken with me and my HR.
This is my second verification call.
I dont know why they are calling many times?
