I had applied for my spouse in december UKBA has sent me all the documents i sent in support of application without any letter or decision ... they have kept the application form that was sent with the documents ...just wandering what does this mean ...any help would be appreciated

It is UKVI and not UKBA.

It means nothing. They are still processing the application. They scan your supporting documents and send originals back to you.
