ILR

Post by December31 » Wed Feb 13, 2008 4:34 pm

I have EC stamped from 01 FEB 2008. I don't think I will be able to enter UK with in 27 days.

I will have only 10 points for age for my 1st FLR.I need atleast 29K per annum salary for the 1nd FLR to get through.

I will only have 5 points for my 2nd FLR . I need atleast 33K per annum salary for the 2nd FLR to get through. I am worried about this.

It is very difficult for me hurry and enter by feb 27. Will it be OK if I travel to London and return immediately, that will eliminate the need for 2nd FLR. Any advice from the members is very much appreciated. :?

Dear Sir

A decision has been made on your application.

If you have opted for the courier service the passport will be despatched to your address by VFS Chennai today, else please visit VFS in the region you applied for counter delivery tomorrow.

Yours faithfully

Hi rrst_101,

To qualify for a ILR after 5 years you need to have a continuous stay of 4 years 11 months......It is critical that you enter the UK within 27 days of EC issuance to qvoid any pitfalls later......

Many in the forum are suggesting to go for 2nd FLR but it pretty dangerous to do so since the Tier 1 system which is coming into force in april this year might change definitely by the time we reach 2nd FLR stage and we may not qualify........

Rather it is just like staying in a heaven to enter within 27 days ...

and get ILR after 5 years directly instead of doing a 2nd FLR..

I mean to say rules change for FLR not for ILR....

But if you really want to stay in india for couple of months May be you could stay in UK for a 1 or 2 months and come back to India........

This way you will satisfy your desire in both the ways.........

Today Morning 8 AM I got a call from Hyd VFS stating that they had received my passport....

I rushed there with my wife, and got the Passport... Visa was stamped on 12th Feb 08 and valid for the next 2 years...

Finally the wait is over! Planning to fly by Mid-March

Can anyone send me the link to Jet Airways baggage link? I cannot find the one where they allow excess baggage to HSMP/Long Term visa holders...

it is really sad to see how BHC is working here in india... do we really need to push so hard to get our applications processed? or is it totally different at their end? seeing so many approvals even though many other applications are still in the queue... god only knows whats really happening... few of us are the only unfortunate ones to suffer like this...

Hope all this mess gets cleared soon...
Thanks...
Veeresh

Ram,

I had not opted for the courier service... i thought it was better to go and pick the Passport n documents up ourselves rather than waiting for the courier guys for days...

All Members -
Along with my documents i received a Medical Form envelope. It was empty. When I asked the VFS guys, what it was, and do i need to get any medical done, he checked it and said that since the envelope was empty, I do not need any Medical check up...
Members, please advise if it is so... or is a Medical Check up prior to landing in UK is necessary?

Kumar.

They seem to have started processing Jan last week applications, check the Jan thread, some folks who applied on Jan 23rd have got the EC.

So maybe, once your application is delayed by X days, they de-prioritize it, cos any way they have not met their SLA. So they'll process other applications quicker. I really hope they haven't misplaced the docs or something silly like that. This is the reply we got today:
"No change in status. I am sorry but we are unable to give you a timeframe for a decision."

Any one seen this one before??

hi everyone

i am glad to say that we got the courier today with 2 years visa stamped from 12-02-08 onwards.

at last after almost 50 sleepless nights

skd - i got the same thing - along with all documents - an empty cover which said medical form from vfs - even i had the same confusion whether it means we need to carry some medical check up reports . is it for the lung x rays that we are supposed to carry along ?

ram , all the best - you would be getting your courier tommorrow right ?

and others stil waiting - surely will get it tommorrow (friday) - Jason , ce , harvis , kmsr and vishal.call them up everyday and mail them also everyday - i did that last 4-5 days.

MEDICAL CHECK-UP BEFORE LANDING IN THE UK IS NOT REQUIRED.

The envelope is for the X-ray etc if you wish to submit it along with you EC application. Since the illiterate morons at VFS are totally useless they would have sent "empty" envelope with the application. Seems one thing is common across all VFS offices: and this COMMON SENSE!

Forget about it and sip a beer from my side.

Congratulations on your EC!

Cheers!

I thought VFS stands for "Visa Facilitation Services", but I don't see how they actually facilitate the application process. They should keep the same acronym of VFS but be renamed to "Visa Fucking-up Services" (excuse my French!) instead. It's more appropriate by the sounds of most people's experiences with them!
