Full time and part time workers and hours confusion

Post by Zafar1947 » Thu Feb 23, 2017 10:15 pm

Hi
This query might have been discussed in past but i hope someone will reply and help as i am applying in a few days.

I was awarded T-1 entrepreneur before April 2014.

Extension is due now, following is what i want to know please:
i) 1 full time worker for 10 months , hours (about) 1300 - Job1
ii) 1 part time worker for 14 months , hours (about) 1400 -Job2
iii) 1 part time worker for 5 months, hours (about) 150 - job 2
iv) 1 part time worker for 5 months , hours (about) 1000 - Job 3
v) 1 part time worker for 3 months, hours (about) 100 - Job 4
All workers are 30 or less than 30 hours per week.

Now, if i add all jobs month wise and consider full time:
10 + 7 + 2.5 + 2.5 + 1.5 = 23.5 (months)
But if i add hours;
1300+ 1400+150+1000+100 = 3950 hours

Am i eligible to claim points for job creation?
Should i just mention hours or do i need to mention months ?

Any help will be appreciated.

Note : I am assuming 10 months part time is 5 months full time. Hence months are divided by 2 when i am totaling. I could be wrong so thats why posting it like this to get a clear picture.

Thanks Zimba,

So in simple terms;
3950/30 = 131 weeks full time

Total requirement is full time 2 years that means 104 weeks full time.

So i have more than 104 and i fulfil the requirement.

These jobs did not run parallel but as i got visa before April 2014, so i still fulfill the job requirements.

I hope that is true ???

And all the jobs ( job 1 to job 4) are different job roles and some months jobs ran parallel and some were not running parallel.

According to
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... ur-v18.pdf

Page 106
A single job need not consist of 12 consecutive months (for example it could exist for
6 months in one year and 6 months the following year), providing it is the same job
(different jobs that have existed for less then 12 months cannot be combined
together to make up a 12 month period). The jobs need not exist at the date of
application, provided they have existed for 12 months.
If i have created different jobs, that means i cannot combine hours !!!!!

Can someone please guide?

Under transitional arrangements you can combine jobs that have not existed for 12 months

Thank you Zimba
Under transitional arrangements you can combine jobs that have not existed for 12 months
Can you please share where you got this information from?

My situation is :
Job 1:
10 months full time - 30 hours per week
+
5 Months Part time - 24 Hours per week
Do i fulfill the 12 month requirement for first job?

Job 2:
14 months Part time - 24 hours per week
+
5 months Part time -24 Hours per week
+
5 months Part time - 24 Hours per week

Do i fulfill the 12 month requirement for 2nd job?

Zimba, this might be a simple thing - but i am stuck with it and its not getting clear. HO rules state one thing, accountants say one thing and solicitors say one thing.

Need your advice on it not in general -but particular to what i have mentioned in my post , please
