Serve notice period even after visa expiry ?

Hi,

Can i serve notice period with current sponsorer even after the current visa expiries ? Considering I have made a new application with new sponsorer before my current visa expires.

for eample my current visa expires on 30th march and can i serve my notice period with current employer after 30th march ? considering that i have made new application with new employer before 30th march.

As the Tier 2 guidance says "You can continue working for your previous sponsor until the start date on your new Certificate of Sponsorship, provided your previous leave has not expired."

Its no in your case as your previous leave will expire on 30th March.

Also how about my dependant ? Can he continue to work ?

So in my case i would have to extend my visa with current employer soon and reapply again with new employer by end of march so that i can serve my notice period until i get my new visa with new employer ? Is this true?

My new employer has their own visa handling agency and even after showing that piece of information to them they said i can work until i get my new visa. Dont know why they said me that?

Dependant can continue working while visa is in process.

This will be the safest way to go along with your visa application.
If your change of employment application is refused and you do not have valid leave to remain with your previous employer then you will not be able to carry on working with your current employer.

Follow the policy guidance which clearly says that you can serve the notice period only if you have valid previous leave.
