EU1 FORM app Self Employment letters from Revenue

Hey Everyone,

I arrived with my Husband on the 25th Jan. So far we have all the docs needed to aply for an EU1 form for him, it's just left with revenue letters. I am self-employed and have sent off my TR1 form to revenue. I sent it about 1 week and half ago but I haven't received anything yet, what should I expect to receive and when will a response come? Should I call them?

Hi,

You'll receive a letter from them and it normally take 2-3 weeks.

you can apply without it and send it later.

I received a letter today that my pps number has been registered for income tax. I called them and they said I should wait 2 days and then register for ROS on revenue.ie, Step 1. After Step 1, they will send me a number to enter Step 2, then I can do step 3 and get a certificate and presumably fill out my self-assessment on ROS. Then they said I can call my local tax office for the docs needed for the EU1 form.

It's confusing at first but by Gods grace it's clearer now.

The letter you have received is good enough for EU1. You don't need to wait for ROS registration.

oh really? That is great. So do you think we should apply now? We have been here for about 5 weeks. These are the documents I have:

marriage certificate and birth certs for our daughters

RTB registration letter and tenancy agreement

notice of registration for income tax with my pps number

electric Ireland utility bill

sole bank account and a joint bank account with my husband bank statement

letter from our doctor confirming we attend that doctors surgery

So...I think we have everything that's on the EU1 fom explanatory leaflet...

If you think that is enough then we will send it in now because relying on just my income is very tight...

Please read this from the explanatory leaflet;

citizen is self-employed, copies of the following documents should be provided:
• Agreed Tax Assessment from the Revenue Commissioner for the last financial year (if applicable) OR Letter of Registration
for Self-Assessment (Income Tax) from the Revenue Commissioner
• Receipts issued for sales or services in the last six months
• Bank statements of the business for the last six months

The 'letter of registration for self-assessment' - Is that the letter I got? because I haven't completed a self-assessment yet, but it says that my pps number has been registered for income tax. So this is ok?

Also, I don't have any proof of income yet, just one bank deposit into my business account here. I had to deposit the money I earned because when I received my salary from the work I do it was before we opened the accounts. Is this ok? I will write a letter to explain all this.

Thats ok. They will request it from you but a work right will be given without it. I will suggest apply now and save some time. You will be given 30 working days to send missing documents so that will be good enough.

A letter will be helpful but you seem to have everything for application. Don't waste time and get queued up.
