Hi

If you have police report and entry of old passport on your new passport, you should not have any problem. Its better to have Driving Licence also, as a proof of age.

Salman, I would stress on giving either a birth certificate or a driving license as proof of your age. I read somewhere here that some ppl got rejected for not providing either and only relying on the notarised copy of the passport.

Hi Rohit,
Do not worry...This is not a big issue..........

I will tell you how to go about it in a very easy approach.....

Follow these simple steps...

1) Go and get an application form for LOST PASSPORT
2) Get an FIR Report ready with all the relevant documentation to be applied to the Ministry of External Affairs
3) Take the assistance of any staff in the Regional Passport office if needed
4) TRY ONLY FOR TATKAAL SCHEME OFFERED BY THE MINISTRY
WHEREIN THEY WILL ISSUE THE PASSPORT IN 5 WORKING DAYS
5) TRY TO INCLUDE A COVERING LETTER TO THE BRITISH HIGH COMMISION THAT YOU WERE ALREADY GIVEN ENTRY CLEARANCE BUT YOU HAVE LOST YOUR PASSPORT
6) The BHC will issue the EC on the new Passport within approximately 5 to 7 working days

7) This way you will be able to meet the deadline of 27 days during which you should be present in Uk after getting Entry clearance.....

Any more queries PING ME ........

Best of Luck on this short journey of test.......

Hi rohit,
Congratulations :)
On achieving the first step....of getting ur new passport

Now I have clearly mentioned the steps to be followed...

Again I will throw some light on this.........

After you get ur new passport Fill up the application form VAF2 for EC......

As an EC Applicant you need to carry the HSMP Approval letter whenever you apply to the BHC,chennai

But your's is a catch 22 situation........

You only have to write a covering letter addressing it to the Entry clearance manager for BHC,chennai

Stating that you have already been issued EC and have lost the passport......

You need not submit the supporting documentation anyway.

Only covering letter ,Passport and a copy of previous HSMP approval letter would do......

As far as HSMP approval letter is concerned IT SHOULD BE VALID AND NOT EXPIRE

Still try to enquire with the senior staff at VFS HYDERABAD or your local VFS Branch.......

They will definitely come up with some solution........

Treat the above post as suggestion only.....

Best of Luck.... :!:

What notarized copy, you said you lost it. From what date has this been attested to?
