to their home country or country of residence.What are considered strong ties to my home country?
Ties are the various aspects of your life that bind you to your home country. Strong ties vary from country to country, city to city, and person to person, but examples include:
While conducting visa interviews, consular officers look at each application individually and consider the applicant's circumstances, travel plans, financial resources, and ties outside of the United States that will ensure the applicant’s departure after a temporary visit.
- Your job;
- Your home; and/or
- Your relationships with family and friends.
Visitors applying for ILR or another category may be refused under 9.23.1. ( previously 322
) because of V 4.2 (a) & (c) (previously 41(i) & (ii)), unless there was a change of circumstances.(7) failure by the person concerned to honour any declaration or undertaking given orally or in writing as to the intended duration and/or purpose of his stay;
Entry clearance decision making: a global reviewManchester Legal Services wrote:As I have stated visitors have to prove that circumstances have changed since their arrival in the UK as one condition for a visitor visa is that they leave the UK after their visit. The rules for elderly dependents do not explicitly prohibit in country applications and through experience I have seen them successful. But I clearly state, before I get jumped on, that the evidence for not being able to leave the UK has to be strong and circumstances must have changed since the person has been in the UK.
