ILE doesn't expire with the passport.

Once you have 5 years residence, you can apply for citizenship provided you meet all the standard requirements.

Employment is NOT a requirement for citizenship.

thanks for the clarification on the naturalisation path, but mt visa has an expiry date on it which is the same date as when my passport expires, am i meant to just get a new passport and transfer it or just leave it on the old passport like that???

ILE isn't a visa.

When exactly does your passport expire?

Does it specifically say Indefinite Leave to Enter? On what basis did you get ILE?

Should be fine to apply for citizenship in December, then you won't have to worry about the ILE.

If you are the spouse or civil partner of a British citizen, then you may naturalise from Dec 2017, after 3 years' anniversary in the UK. Else, from Dec 2019, after 5 years' anniversary in the UK.
