A1 or A2 for new spouse visa applications after May 2017?

Hi All,

I have a question regarding the English language test requirements for a spousal visa from Pakistan.

I understand that FLR(M) applicant renewals after May 2017 will be required to take an A2 test even took an A1 test when originally applying.

My question is, what test do new applicants applying for a spousal visa after May 2017 have to take? Is it still A1 for new applicants or do they have to also take an A2 now?

Any help would be much appreciated.

A1 for applicants outside the UK. A2 is only for further leave to remain FLR(M).

oh i thought they changed it so that spouse applicants now had to do A2
