Tier 2 ILR Absence Pregnancy Absence

Post by matrix123 » Tue Mar 28, 2017 8:59 pm

Hello Manci/ Moderators,

Need your help !

My wife is on tier 2 general starting Nov 2013. We got Tier 2 visa extension last year, valid until Nov 2019.

We are expecting our first baby now, and she plans to take full 12 months statutory maternity leave starting July 2017- June 2018.

We are eligible to apply for ILR in Oct 2018 (28 days before 5 year period).
The salary is above £36k and the company (A rated sponsor) would still need her to work after we finish maternity leave.

Would taking full 12 months off just few months before ILR have an adverse impact on our ILR application ?

thanks for your help.

just to add to above,

we plan to be only out of UK during the maternity for about 3- 4(max) months so as to not come near 180 day absence period.

thanks iworker for your response.

Is there anything else you think we need to be aware of regarding the pregnancy and maternity leave for a tier2 general permit ?

sorry about the broad question, but any advice would be helpful.

thanks again,
