PASSPORT AFTER BC CEREMONY

Post by Angie77 » Tue Apr 04, 2017 3:38 pm

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive passport once ceremony has been attended ? Does passport office send any notification?
I applied for naturalization and passport together through NCS.

Much depends on how quickly the Council notify the HO that you have attended the Citizenship ceremony and then how long before the HO notify HMPO.

I am starting to get worried. It will be 1 week tomorrow that I attended ceremony and not sign of notification whatsoever. I don't know if I was supposed to tell council on the day of my ceremony that I had applied for passport together with naturalization. I hope not, because I completely forgot to mention that.

You aren't required to notify anyone and you're unlikely to receive any notification from HMPO before the passport is issued.

You can use the Jcap ref number and track the passport on the Gov.UK webzite.

They will send you an email with an update in 24-48 hours

I had my ceremony today and they said I should receive my passport within 4 weeks. Good luck!

I don't have this reference number. I was never given one.
I will wait a couple more weeks and if I don't hear from them I will chase this up.

Thank you

I finally received text message on Friday and passport on Saturday evening.
I was really surprised because delivery man rang door bell at 8 pm on a Saturday. A signature was required as I live in a flat.
Thanks for all help.
