How to Go -next after HSMP (confused)??

Post by chetanamale@gmail.com » Wed Feb 20, 2008 4:54 am

Hi All :

I got my HSMP approved on 07th Feb and I am planning for my next course of actions.
The next step of course is job hunting. I am quite confused about how
should I try next to get a job? I have heard many people saying and in
fact some consultants as well that unless I go to UK, it would not be
possible to start scheduling interviews. If i need to circulate my CV should i mention my HSMP approval reference in it ?

I want to know from you if I can wait for some time and try to secure
a job from here instead of immediately moving to UK. I am planning to
apply for EC some time by May end. But I am not sure if a lull period of 3
months after getting HSMP stamped would make any difference in the job
hunt?
1) Do you suggest me to apply for job and take my time to secure a job OR
apply for EC and go to UK for job hunt?

2) I also want to know if I plan to apply for job after 3 months, how
will it impact my candidature for the jobs in UK.

3) Will filing EC after April 1st with current HSMP approval be an issue?

FYI, I am a C/C++/UNIX guy with 6 yrs of experience.

Thanks,

Some facts...
It is very difficult (almost impossible to get a job in UK while sitting in India)..Your EC /HSMP status wouldnt have any bearing on Job hunt..You will be trated like a normal candiate (or less then that as u dont have UK exp)...Its upto you, when u want to come to UK..

I will suggest to apply for EC and get it out of your way, lately i have been hearing horror stories about EC ,so dont take EC for granted....
