Hi Linalina22, his employer had received a letter from immigration stating he was not to work (this happened a day or so before submitting pr application as the derivative card, applied for previously, was refused due to an old residence court order. . But basically we filled the wrong application being naive beginners and thought it was straight forward! Strangely enough, in January a new residence order was made at court confirming residence in a newer certificate.)

Anyways, his employer is very supportive, but all is getting from home office is that a certificate of work is needed to be able to employ him. The biometrics email people are incompetent, they responded to our email wanting a special delivery number, and have yet to reply almost two weeks after their request.

Many thanks for your reply.

Your employer cannot stop you from working. They are obliged to contact the home office through a new online service called "employee checking service " where your right to work will be confirmed by the home office stating a 6 months time period. And they state that if you do not get an answer from the application you can contact them again after the 6 months to issue you with another "right to work".

Below are my timelines:
My husband is EEA and I'm non EEA
Application sent 21st December
Application received 22nd December
Acknowledgment email 11th January
Biometric request 10th January
Biometric sent 16th January
PR Still waiting
Bio Acknowledgment .........................

Please ask any questions if needed.
You are right mate my employer just call me this morning telling me I should send proof that i sent the applications, the post office receipt, that they are going to do check by themselves
Cheers mate

Well we finally received a reply from the biometrics team. . They can see the application was received on the 9th March (no surprise there as we actually provided them with the postal tracking number) and unfortunately due to UKVI having a high influx of applications, my partners application STILL hasn't even been logged on to the system nearly 5 weeks after payment taken. I find this excruciating. Why not just log it, send out biometrics so people can get a coa to work, then take your time with the actual PR decision. It's barbaric.

At least the sun is shining I guess!

LinaLina22. . Quick question. . I've looked at the right to work check myself and you need a reference number for the application, how does the employer go about this when no email/letter from home office has been received? Feeling completely in limbo at the moment.

Many thanks

Hello missflmack,

Well it is your employer dutie write to them even without the number. Give them all your details as Tosin2017 has stated because the home office should have you on records even if you don't have an ID number . The employer must do this check to protect themselves from being fined from the home office for employing illegal workers.

Hope this helps.

Also waiting for the biometrics letter - several posters mention emailing the biometric team, how would one go about finding that email address? Thanks.

Hi, here is my timeline, EU national:

I printed out the form (non-online method) and sent it after many many weeks of gathering the necessary documents.

Documents Posted: 20th February 2017
Payment Taken: 22nd February
Email Received: 17th March
PR received: 6th April 2017

Regarding documentation I have supplied bank statements/payslips/utility bills/ self assessments, nics, tenancy agreements or landlords letters/ letters from clients/ P60s/letters from college for each year/ NHS letters/ marriage certificate/blue card/ ID card/ old passport proving my maiden name/ and other letters for 2011-2016.

I've received a letter confirming my permanent residence status starting in April 2016.

I want to thank you all for helping me when I had queries.
Good luck everyone!

Thanks Tossin2017 for the update, glad to hear you've got the call rolling! As my partners non eea application, received on 9th of March, still hasn't been 'uploaded to the system', I've decided to stop stalking the postman for this week and focus on Spring cleaning.

Keep us updated about your COA!

in relation to the person asking for biometrics email, it's something along the lines of Eurobiometrics (should appear on Google)- however, from our experience, it's pretty much a waste of time.

Good luck

Hey smITbd,

Just checked the post office tracking and it finally says special delivery due for tomorrow morning!! Don't know if my MP has done the trick or my constant phone calls since 04/04/17. Fingers crossed it's everything with the PR and not just the passports we requested back 15 days ago. I would advice check it once a day atleast if you've selected special delivery. Will update upon delivery! Another sleeples night, hopefully the last one!

Hello Khlid 77 I did not receive any confirmation email the reason I think is that I apply along side with my EU partner so I didn't put my email address and she hasn't received any email from them yet I don't think they will send you email just expect your Biometric enrolment after 5 weeks of deducting payment from your account

Hey buddy, thank you.
GOOD NEWS!! I got the letter confirming PR an hour ago in the post with all my other documents.! and the Biometirc card will follow in the post in 10 working days it says! I am so relieved!

I would say, Just call them atleast twice a week, and wait a bit. I think HO are sticking to their timeline of 6.5 months for NON-EU PR applications. Mine took exactly 6 months and a half. And also if the passports haven't come in the first request, fill up another request and send it, it seems that speeds up the process too.

I wish good luck to everybody here!

We' ve called them, but they were not friendly at all! They have said that they'll be in touch with us in a couple of working days. Also we've mentioned that our passports still not arrived, but they said that we have to call another department which is dealing with the returns, but we cannot find the number, there is only a form for those who didn't receive requested passports after10 days. This is just ridiculous, during this months of waiting I have lost both my grandmothers and couldn't go home, which I have mentioned in form when requesting passports back.

Good luck everyone!

Oh, sorry to hear that! On the upside, usually if they don't send the passports back, means they have made a decision, and a positive one hopefully, and you should be getting them back after Easter! I just hope it comes soon so you can visit back home buddy! Good luck, also keep checking the post office track and trace everyday. If you are lucky, it may even arrive this Saturday as its not a bank holiday!
