Visa expiry

Post by akshay242005 » Fri Apr 14, 2017 6:14 pm

Hi,
My passport expires is in 2 years and it has been submitted for CoS and other applications as well.
I just wanted to know that when i apply for the tier 2 general visa for 3 years what will be the expiry date of the visa, same as the passport or 3 years only.

I would be highly grateful if someone could help me out with this.

Thank You

You will get the visa based on the COS. Passport expiry dates are irrelevant. Assuming you will renew your passport on-time, you will need to carry both the passports when you travel. Your visa will still be valid on the old passport.

No, the OP will be issued with a 30 day visa vignette to allow entry into the UK and they must collect their Tier 2 G BRP card within 10 days of arriving. Visa are no longer placed in the passport for the full duration.

Oh yes, that's correct CR001. They no longer provide visa for the entire duration.
