Documents needed by UK employers.

Post by wanna_bee » Thu Feb 21, 2008 10:03 am

After getting a job in UK , what are the documents that a UK employer asks for or what are the documents one needs to submit to them?

for example here in India one needs to submit photocopies of graduation certificate and marks cards , appointment and relieving docs of all old employers to the new company.

How does it work in UK ?

Thanks in advance.

cheers,

it varies from field to field.

They can ask if they want or if they feel.

What sort of job we are talking about here ?

I don't think you will be employed as a "doctor" without showing your qualifications :lol: I hope it is the case

require copies of immigration status and driving lisence also would normally like to confirm you have the qualifications you claim to have so be ready to supply them on request.

Thanks for your replies gentlemen!

I'm in the IT industry . do i still have to show my qualifications?

can I take notarized copies of my graduation ?

do i have to carry all my old companies appointment and relieving documents ? {thats a lot of documents!}

the reason i'm asking this is because i donot want to be carrying tons of originals on me initially when i have no base in uk and may be moving frequently.

I've never been asked to provide any documents whatsoever, ever.

Mostly contracting - some permie.

In fact, I've not seem my degree certificate since the day after I got it in 1988.
