Hi,

Is anyone still waiting for a COA after already submitting biometrics? How long does this usually take, and is there a time limit? I've read somewhere about 15 days?

Thanks in advance

Hi All,

My husband is EEA National and I am a non-EEA National.

Application sent by special delivery: 04/11/2016
Application received by HO: 07/11/2016
Email confirmation for my husband: 18/11/2016
Biometric request letter received on (for me): 19/11/2016
Biometric data submitted on: 24/11/2016
CoA received: 01/12/2016

I am working in one of the NHS University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and based on my CoA, my permanent job contract has been extended till June 12th 2017.
After my CoA, we haven't heard anything and contemplating whether to contact the Home Office at the end of 6 months, which will be 7th May.

Thanks for all the posts here. It has been really helpful.

Good luck to everyone.

HI, i have sent my papers 2.11.2016, havent received anything yet from them. I had to request my passport after 2 months.( Its really annoying how they can keep official documents like passports for so long). I ve only seen the money taken from my account after a few days ,thats all. And its nearly 6 months now .

Hi all.

I am applying as an EU citizen (A8) and my timeline is below:

Applications sent: 13/03/17
Application received by HO: 14/03/17
Payment taken: 20/03/17
Confirmation email: ????

I am slightly concerned that I haven't received a confirmation email yet. How long did it take everyone else to receive their confirmation? Also, I couldn't apply online as I am applying as self sufficient person and I really need to get my passport back as I have a trip coming up at the end of May. Am I able to request my passport back using the 10 day service without a case number? Has anyone done this? Grrr...this whole process is so stressful!

I did not receive any confirmation letter either. Yes, you can request passport back without case ID. I have requested mine it's been 9 days I have not received it yet. I will wait for few more days. If I not receive my passport then I will submit progress request form.

seems like they have stopped sending confirmation emails.
I sent my docs on 5th April and I didnt receive the email.
Perhaps they saving time as too many applications being received daily.

I am an Italian national.
Application posted on 6 Dec 2016
Application received and payment taken by Home Office on 9 Dec 2016
No confirmation email received.
No sign of life for months.
I began to worry a bit.
Then, suddenly, PR received on 27 Apr 2017 dated 16 Apr 2017.

The entire process took AROUND 140 DAYS, i.e. ABOUT 20 WEEKS, ALMOST 5 MONTHS !!!
SO DO NOT DESPAIR! :-)
And don't read about too many Bulgarian or Romanian applications, because they CLEARLY have a dedicated office...

We received a confirmation email (application submitted 9th March). The confirmation email was around 10th April. It seems to take a lot of time!

Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if someone has asked this question before, but I'd appreciate any helpful advice. I applied for a residence card for my Mum and sent it by recorded delivery on 11 April 2017. It was received by the Home Ofc on 12 April 2017. I checked the tracking history and confirmed this.

However, I still have not received any confirmation of receipt by the home office or a reference number from them. Is this normal or should I chase them up?

Is there a number or email where I can contact them asking about the status of my Mum's application? She also needs her documents back ASAP as she'll soon be travelling.

Thanks,
ceuqu

I applied for PR on 4th April, and I too did not receive the confirmation email.
I called 03001232253 and I was told that very often they do not send the email because
they are "inundated with applications". If you do require a reference number they suggest
you write them and request for one. I was told that the email is not required and if you do have confirmation that the bank transaction has gone through, its evidence enough.

ok thanks, I paid by postal order, so I guess that will do. I just want my mum's identity documents back ASAP, I'm not fussed about how long the application takes.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share my timeline. EEA national, arrived in the UK in 2009 for University, applied on the basis of 5 years as a student (no gaps). I used the online application form, and I sent my European ID card, as my passport was about to expire.

Application sent (online): 11.03.2017
Documents posted: 11.03.2017
Payment taken: 11.03.2017
Confirmation email from HO with case number: 13.03.2017
DCPR (and all documents) received: 02.05.2017 (dated 26.04.2017)

I sent my original EHIC (only one), together with an original document from my country's Healthcare Authority to confirm that my healthcare has been covered since 2009 (plus translation in English). I was worried about this, having read that many people have had problems with the health insurance requirement, but what I sent must have been sufficient. For the financial part, I only had a scholarship for some of my student years, so I included a scholarship letter from Uni and a declaration stating that I have not claimed benefits and have had sufficient funds to cover me during my time as a student, witnessed and co-signed by a notary public. I also included enrollment letters from my Uni for each year. For proof of residence, I sent bank statements (online copies printed and stamped in my local branch), utility bills, tenancy agreements and letters from City Council (no more than 4 documents per year).

This forum was a great source of information throughout the (frustrating, tedious) process.

Good luck everyone!
