Hotel reservation suffices the accommodation requirement?

Post by 4JT » Wed May 10, 2017 7:21 am

Hi there,

Does anyone know any hotel or Airbnb booking reservation suffices the accommodation requirement for spouse and children dependent visas? Is there any more supporting on top of the hotel booking confirmation doc?

You need to have adequate sized flat/home for your spouse and children. Usually tenancy agreement having at least 6 months validity, agency/landlord permission in writing for children & spouse stay there etc. Forget hotel reservation which maybe for temporary visit/transit visa but spouse visa is a form of settlement.

But the guideline states advised not to pay anything on accommodation before visa is granted. It's so confused...

Yes it's written merely there but unless paying rent & deposit no one issues necessary accomodation related documents. Maybe close relative/generous friends offer that freely. I guess that HO don't care about rent but more concerned about whether an adequate accomodation is arranged on spouse & dependant arrival and to prove that tenancy agreement, landlord permission letter, house inspection etc need to attach.
