NHS Surcharge & Priority Application.

Post by klite12 » Thu May 11, 2017 8:28 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm querying about what the NHS Surcharge is, and what is it for? Also, once my spouse arrives in the UK. After paying the NHS surcharge, what does she get access to? Free check ups from the doctor & free medication? Or do we still have to pay. I don't understand what the surcharge is exactly for.

I'm also sponsoring only my wife, I was told by a lawyer that my NHS Surcharge fee will be £600, is this correct?

Secondly,

Is the priority service for £551 worth it? Does it have an impact on the application? I'm considering but only if it will actually process the application quicker. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

A small premium to help the NHS with the costs of migrants using the NHS. GP, Specialists, Hospital, pregnancy is free. You pay for dental and your pay the standard meds prescription charge per item that everyone else pays unless she has certain chronic condition then it is free.

Thanks!
