Apply Indian Passport surrender from India

I've had attended UK citizenship cermony on 23rd March 2017, and got my UK Passport as valid from 31st March 2017. Previous to this, I have a valid Indian passport with ILR.

I know that we could use our Indian Passport within 90 days of UK citizenship ceremony. Am planning to travel to India soon. I will be arriving in India within 90 days grace period but I will be returning to UK only after exceeding the 90 days period.

My query is all about is that possible to apply for the surrender certificate from India itself during my travel. Will it be any problem? If possible what will happen to my status in India ? will it be illegal stay? Thanks in advance
