BridgeKid wrote:Hello All,
This is my first post...borne out of the great work you guys are doing. I would like to use my experience as a way of encouraging someone out there.
I applied for ILR SET (O) via Tier 2 General last week - April 19th...at Solihull PSC...same day appointment. Got there 11:45am and didn't leave till few minutes to 7pm. Unfortunately I got the dreaded valid application but further checks required letter. Went back home with spouse feelinf very dejected.
I was told I they needed to check a few things with my employer and should receive a call in a couple of days. Having read a number of posts on this forum, I realised days could turn to weeks or months.
Everytime my phone rang my heart skipped a beat. In the meantime - as a man of faith I prayed and fasted and placed everything in the hands of God almighty.
On the 24th ..4:03pm, I received a call from the Home Office asking us to come back again for biometrics stating IT issues affected first one we did previous week. Caseworker tried to reassure me that everything was okay.
Went ro Solihull PSC 25th April and did the biometrics again. Arrived 10:45. Wife had to do biometrics twice! I was called to counter 6 and was given documents along with approval letter. 4 working days in all. In fact we were treated like royalty on the 25th...jumping every queue. Lots of people may have been jealous, but without a clue about heartache we had endured on the days prior.
Trust in God and you'll achieve anything! Hope someone finds my story useful.
Good luck to all waiting to apply or waiting for a response.
from where do you get the email address of the case worker? If you are planning to use the firstname.lastname@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, then it may not be 100 % sure that it will reach the correct person. bUT IF YOU WANT TO TRY JUST GO AHEAD AND NOTHING IS BAD IN TRYING.ukpostgrad wrote:Hi Guys, ewangai wrote:I applied on the 10 year Long Residence route. Part of that was an as EEA Family member, they wanted further proof of living together during the EEA Family member period.
In this instance, a letter from the council confirming joint council tax liability was sufficient. I had sent other documents before so My understanding was that this was to fill in gaps between bills, bank statements and payslips with both mine and my family member's details.
Is it good idea to email case worker to chase update? - mine was same day (Varied from set(o) to set(lr) decision was not given as passport not available) it been 20 days and i have severe urgency to go back home due to family members serious medical condition)
thanks

Hi Smart officer,SaiBilla wrote:SaiBilla wrote:smartofficer wrote:Hi all,
I just wanted to share my experience.
I got ilr approved after 83 days in july. I applied for my premium services refund and after 22 days they replied . Because of HMRC delay they hold my apllication and cannot refund me fees. I applied for review of refund and after 1 month recieved call from UKVI and they said because they applied to HMRC for all my accounts and all years details and that took time. So as its third party delay so they cannot refund my fees.
So any body in same situation as i was. I recommend apply by post and save your premium services fees.
For more details go back to review my posts.
Thanks to all.
Kindly refrain from typing in CAPITAL letters. It is difficult to read and is the equivalent of SHOUTING!!SaiBilla wrote:HI, JUST WANTED TO CHECK WHEN YOU REQUESTED TO RETURN YOUR DOCUMENTS WERE YOU MEANT WITHDRAWING THE WHOLE APPLICATION.? I have applied on 20th July at PSC Croydon.avi wrote:Hi SaiBilla,
Did they give you any specific reason why it was withheld, have they contacted your employer or you since then?

This would have flagged up instantly with HO and they will investigate this and the 'genuineness' of your role fully. HO is very aware of this 'sudden increase for ILR' practice and your sponsor is at risk of losing their license.avi wrote:Thanks for the reply. Just want to understand your situation more,a s i am in the same boat.
How many months payslip did you provide with the application? Was there any increase in salary just before the application?
Mine was an increment from 24k to 35k in January as part of annual increment over 2 years and i provided 2 months payslip.
Seems like they have asked for more payslips after your application to see if it was genuine or not? Correct me if i am wrong.

Hi Avi,avi wrote:Hi Cr001,
Appreciate your response and understand where you are coming from. The employment and the role is completely genuine and we have got everything to back up the raise in salary.
If i don't get any response by August, i am just thinking to change my application to 10 year as i will be completing 10 years in September and i understand one can apply 28 days before? Do you think thats a good option? If yes then how do i go about it?
Cheers

Have you applied on March 16 or March 17.?avi wrote:Hi Sai,
Yes i applied on 9th March in Sheffield through tier 2 route. My salary was increased in January. My only concern is my tier 2 visa expires in June this year, i am just hoping that i get my results before that or otherwise as i said i will change it to 10 years as i will be completing in September, so technically 28 days before that? Do you think that would be valid, even though my current visa expires in June?
From what i can see in the forum, once a case has been deferred, home office is at least taking 6 months or more.
Please let me know what you think?
Cheers

There is no appeal right for PBS route applications including Set(O), you should know that as this has been the case for a couple of years now.SaiBilla wrote:avi wrote:Because for what so ever reason if the visa got declined then you have to apply for Appeal inorder that you have the legal right to stay in UK until September.
Thanks CR001CR001 wrote:There is no appeal right for PBS route applications including Set(O), you should know that as this has been the case for a couple of years now.SaiBilla wrote:avi wrote:Because for what so ever reason if the visa got declined then you have to apply for Appeal inorder that you have the legal right to stay in UK until September.
Applying for an extension assuming it is not Tier 1 General or any other visa you might qualify for.SaiBilla wrote:Thanks CR001CR001 wrote:There is no appeal right for PBS route applications including Set(O), you should know that as this has been the case for a couple of years now.SaiBilla wrote:avi wrote:Because for what so ever reason if the visa got declined then you have to apply for Appeal inorder that you have the legal right to stay in UK until September.
Ok, what would be the alternative if at all the ILR gets rejected then. Any other alternative to extending the stay and the application reviewed...?
Hi uffaisal, Have you heard of anything form HO since your application ?uffaisal wrote:Hi All:
I applied for ILR through Glasgow PEO on 7Nov 2016 through Set- O
I was on Tier 1 General from last 5 years. I amended my tax return for tax
Year 2010/2011 in 2016 and payed the remaining tax. I also attached the summary of last 5 years of self-assessments from HMRC, along with my application. But the case worker asked me the reason for amendment.
Then gave me a letter for further checks. Can you please suggest me that
How long it does usually takes to get reply from HMRC?
What are my chances as i amended the tax return for year 2010/2011 and payed the tax ?
thanks

Then spoke to Hmrc. Hmrc sent me emplyment history and sa 302 as well for all of the years as all the tax is upto date and recived ni paid letter as well. But on the employment history one of the employer missing no details at all. I got shocked as i do have payslips and p60 for that employers. I got extention in 2013 and i showed homeoffice earning from that employment. I don't know what to do now? As i do have p60 i can send to homeoffice but that employment is not on Hmrc record. Please help and give good advice. Sorry for long post. Thanks in advance.
have you received any reply from HO?walkingintherain wrote:Hello friends,
Just a quick overview of my situation.
Applied for ILR (10 yrs route) at Sheffield premium service three weeks ago. A letter was handed over to me stating that the application is valid but further checks will be carried out to get a decision & retrieve my passport from another department.
I had already applied for Tier 1 Enterpreneur Extension about 8 months ago and the decision on that application was still pending at the time of application for ILR.
A week after the ILR application, they withdrew my Tier 1 Extension application, refunded my IHS surcharges, and sent me all the related documents with a letter stating that hence I apllied for ILR, this T1 application is no more relevant for consideration & that they have forwarded my passport to the ILR department.
Just wanted to know how long it will take to get a decision & that will there be any checks related to my T1 application?
