BRP Return - Covering Note Template

Hi,

I have now attended the ceremony and have sent my BRP back. I have also written a short covering note which i am sharing with you people, so that you can also use it as a template if required.

Please find it below for your reference

Naturalisation BRP Returns,
PO BOX 195,
Bristol,
BS20 1BT

Subject: Returning BRP card after becoming British Citizen

Dear Sir,

I, <<Full Name>>, Date of Birth <<dd-MM-yyyy>>, have now become British citizen after attending citizenship ceremony on <<dd-MM-yyyy>>.

Therefore, I am returning my ILR BRP card with number <<BRP Card Number>> to you. Please find it enclosed with this letter.

There's a lot of unnecessary information in your covering note. The following single sentence satisfies all the requirements:
I, <<Full Name>>, born <<dd-MM-yyyy>>, am returning my BRP (document number: <<BRP Card Number>>) because I've become a citizen.
It's what I scrawled on a piece of paper for my covering note and it seems to have done the job.

I would take it even a step further and include only the following@

"Now British citizen, therefore returning BRP.

<Full name>"

They can look at the enclosed BRP for more details. Then send by second class post! :lol:
