Who is this visa for?

Hello,

I'm a bit confused as to who this visa is actually for.

My gf is a Canadian citizen and wishes to come live/work in the UK. She doesn't have any job offers from the UK. Could she still apply for this? She is currently working at a Canadian university.

Is this the right visa to apply for?

P.S. She is under 30.

Tier 5 (Temporary Worker) is not one specific visa, but five different ones, plus the Youth Mobility Scheme comes under Tier 5. Each one has its own criteria and purpose.

The requirements for the Youth Mobility option mentions no need for any job offer or anything. Seems like as long as you have the money in the bank and are under 30, you should be able to apply. I hope I am not misunderstanding the requirements.

Of course that's all provided that you are a Canadian.

There's a bit more to it than that, but she can read the eligibility at that link. Plus like any visa applicant she must not fall foul of the General Grounds for Refusal, in respect of any previous immigration history in the UK or to do with any issues in her personal history.
